A Little Perspective With Amy

I have worked with young children and their families for over 25 years. As years go by, the stresses parents face seem to get harder. Parents report to me that quality time together feels harder to come by, schedules and transitions feel more complicated, and down time… seems not to exist!
The good news is, many of the challenges parents face haven’t changed at all, even though the world has. Looking at the basics of child development can offer a roadmap. That’s why I’ve created a series of parent talks that give a little perspective–so we can leave the noise behind and talk about the things that matter.
We’ll cover topics like potty training, sleep, and picky eating, and also how to create connection, harmony, and joy in a busy world. I’ll be sharing some insights from my years of working with families and young children, rooted in real information about child development. No complicated protocols, just practical, small shifts that can make life easier. These will be smart, reassuring conversations about understanding, raising, and educating young children.
The talks will be virtual, on Tuesday evenings once or twice a month, free and open to all. The format will be a half-hour talk, with an optional Q&A session afterward. Our first topic, on 10/20, is how to approach your picky eater and make mealtimes more successful. Our second topic, on 11/10, is about making holidays more joyful for young children (and for their parents!) One tip: it has almost nothing to do with presents and almost everything to do with PRESENCE.

I love talking with parents about their children’s development. It is endlessly fascinating to watch children as they learn and grow. I look forward to sharing these big conversations about small people with you!
