High School through College

I believe every student deserves to feel seen, known, and celebrated throughout their school journey. For over 16 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside students and families as they navigate the often overwhelming application process. My goal is always to help them move through it with clarity, strategy, and care.
I began my career in college admissions at Mills College, where I worked closely with students at every stage of the process. I loved getting to know students through meeting them at their high schools, touring them around campus, reading their essays, conducting interviews, and ultimately celebrating with them at orientation. I led admission committee conversations, where we made thoughtful and often difficult decisions to shape each incoming class. Later, as Director of Admissions at Holy Names High School, and then The Marin School, I focused on helping families feel a genuine sense of connection and belonging. I loved creating opportunities for students and parents to get to know the heart of each school community.
Most recently, as a placement counselor, I’ve been incredibly lucky to bring all of my experience together. I love helping students discover what matters most to them, reflect on their story, and approach this process with both self-awareness and confidence. I’ve worked with middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college-aged students from all kinds of backgrounds — from those applying to the most competitive schools to those seeking environments with learning support, specialized programs, or a different approach to education. Through this work, I have developed a deep understanding of how powerful the right school environment can be for a student’s growth.
My counseling style is warm, calm, and student-centered. I bring organization, humor, and a steady presence to my work. I am there to keep students on track to meet every deadline, but just as importantly, I am there to support them through the emotional ups and downs of the application process.
I recently moved to the Sacramento area with my husband, but still spend time in the Bay Area where we called home for 16 years. When I’m not working with students, I can often be found reading cookbooks or hosting a dinner for friends and family. Ask me what I’m cooking this week - I’ll definitely have an enthusiastic answer!
